Founded in 1991, Buena Vista Builders provides design-driven, artisan-crafted, urban in-fill housing. In keeping with a small-is-better, hands-on, handcrafted business model, we develop one-of-a-kind buildings. We have constructed and renovated over 50 homes on 17 San Francisco sites over the course of 25 years.
This six family-sized condominiums located near City College. 3+ bedrooms units provide much-needed family and student housing. It was designed by Sternberg-Benjamin Architects.
Reconstructed in 2005 in one of San Francisco’s oldest, densest and most energetic neighborhoods, along the Hyde and Powell Street cable car lines, 939 Jackson takes its architectural cues from neighboring Victorian-influenced row houses. 9 large units with private gardens, classic detailing, and modern floor plan.
A three unit building in the heart of the Mission district. Featuring Wrap around deck with panoramic view, granite counter, stainless steel appliances, and elegant stone, iron and tile work. Modern facade with nods to the past, round two-story bay anchors the corner, intricate stick-work cornice.
Design by award-winning Donald MacDonald Architects and constructed over 4 phases, The City Mews takes it cue from a traditional British mews. Built along two private streets and 60 narrow, independent homes constructed around a central landscaped park. The City Mews provided simple, affordable in-fill housing in the rapidly changing SOMA district.

Oriented for commanding, panoramic views on 2 floors, the top floor master suite offer spacious living which includes sauna and 2 decks.
Two townhouse building designed by Casper Mol take advantage of sweeping downtown views to create two unique, private residences along a public open space.
Built in 1899 as a summer cottage at rear of narrow Potrero Hill lot, it was rebuilt in 1999. The lower level was carved out and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths added to create a 3-BR/3-BA home. Zoned for two units, a second 3-bedroom, 2-bath home was added in 2001 at the front of lot.
A single family residence constructed in the Berkeley Hills, one of the first homes in the area to be completed after a devastating fire destroyed more than 3000 homes in 1991. Bordering on track of public open space with abundant wildlife, and generous fenestration to take advantage of dramatic views.
