Three single-family houses designed by Kerman Morris Architects on the site of 1896 dairy farmhouse in San Francisco’s Diamond Heights District. Large lot is divided into 3 separate parcels sharing common landscaped drive. Original farmhouse expanded to three bedrooms, with media room and wine cellar in rebuilt basement, original facade restored. Two modern 4-bedroom houses are constructed on remaining lots, with private gardens, decks to water views, open floor plans. Construction and design consulting by Buena Vista Builders., Inc.

1905 Classical Revival home in Presidio Heights had been owned by same family for generations without a major renovation. Buena Vista Builders hired 1995 to install garage, seismically strengthen structure, and upgrade systems and finishes. Classic San Francisco home of grand scale restored to splendor, with classic views north to the Presidio and Golden Gate Bridge.
Four narrow townhouse units in two duplex buildings separated by an interior parking court, designed 1998 by architect Dan Solomon and constructed by Buena Vista Builders in San Francisco’s Mission District. Part of a wave of development in the City’s urban core providing housing to an influx of early tech/Dotcom workers. Simple hardi-plank facade without trim uses massing and fenestration to drive architecture. Generous glazing and high ceilings expand unit interiors.
Design by Donald MacDonald Architects and constructed 1997 - 1999 by Buena Vista Builders in two phases, The City Mews takes it cue from a traditional British mews. 60 narrow townhomes constructed along two new private streets with central courtyard greens. The City Mews provided simple, affordable in-fill housing in the rapidly changing SOMA district.
Interior renovation of 1960’s condominium in Ashbury Heights by architect Jonathan Pearlman. Located on upper floor, ceiling is raised to capture dead space in roof structure, skylights added. Interior updated with circular foyer and rich wood cabinetry.
